Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to our frequently asked questions page. We hope you can find the answers to some of the many questions you may have regarding your wedding photography here. Please feel welcome to call us with any further questions you may have, or contact us using the link to the top-right of this page.
| Are you insured?
Our photographers are fully insured against liability and indemnity as well as mishaps involving equipment. We always carry spare sets of each item of equipment so we can continue without any delay in the unlikely event of equipment failure of damage.
| What Cameras do you use?
We use Canon's line of superb professional cameras and 'L' series lenses. Ben is currently using 5D MkII cameras along with a brace of fast prime & zoom lenses.
| Do you shoot video?
No, although we have no issues working alongside a professional and respectful videographer. If you have plans to book a videographer for your big day, we would very much like to plan a meeting with them beforehand to ensure we work effectively to complement each other's work to deliver to you a professional & beautiful set of photographs and video.
| How long have you been in business?
We are relative newcomers to a dynamic field that is rapidly expanding and contracting in line with demand, fashion and budgets. Ben has been photographing weddings professionally since 2010. Prior to this Ben began shooting environmental portraiture professionally, and dabbling with journalistic photography in his free time, examples of which can be found on the blog. Published work includes 'Yesterday's News': Selected as a Judges Choice in the 2011 Professional Photographer of the Year awards.
| I've seen photographers on the web, in your area, who charge less, do you price match?
The short answer is no, we do not price match.
The reasoning behind this is it is very difficult to compare the work of two, individually distinct wedding photographers, there may be similarities in what they offer in terms of time spent photographing during the day, number of photographs in an album, etc. although, when it comes to making a comparison between the actual photographs being produced by the photographers you may quickly find you are comparing apples and oranges.
The best advice I can give is to look at exactly what you want from your wedding photography. Ask yourself, is the lower priced photographer offering exactly what I want? are they insured? Do they use professional equipment & do they carry back-ups in case of unforeseen circumstances? Have I met them beforehand, Am I happy that they can deliver? Can they offer me the very best in luxury albums to present my memories in? Do they have a full body of work on show in a well organised portfolio? Do I like their photographs and style of photography? If you are happy to live without a guarantee that your photographs will be given the time they deserve to allow them to truly reflect the best day of your lives, and bring you happy memories for years to come, then by all means choose the lower priced photographer.
Wedding photography can seem expensive as a standalone item on your wedding planning list. It is worth remembering that your photographs of your big day will be able to give you wonderful memories many long and happy years after the flowers have wilted and delightful wedding breakfast enjoyed.
We are also keenly aware that the entirety of a wedding celebration can run into many tens of thousands of pounds. With this in mind, please feel welcome to contact us if you enjoy our work and would like to give us the honour of photographing your wedding day. We will endeavour to help you work within your budget and get the very best for your wedding photographs. We are proud to be flexible, and will work with you to design a bespoke wedding photography package, from our initial meetings right through to delivery of a beautiful album with all your memories presented to be cherished for generations to come.
| Who owns our wedding photographs?
The simple answer is: You do!
I would like to display my work on this website, as well as my blog, and on my social network accounts. Occasionally I am approached by wedding blogs, websites and magazines to provide examples of my work. I see this as a fantastic way of getting my name out there and continuing to build my reputation.
If you would expressly like me not to use any of your wedding photographs in this way, please let me know.
